Wow…what a busy couple of weeks. Seems like the holidays, which are supposed to be festive, are crazier than ever! Especially since I endured Black Friday with my wife. Ah, the things we do for love…and to save a few bucks.
Before I forget, I’m flying out to Salt Lake City, UT tomorrow for a sales meeting and won’t be back until Friday evening. You will therefore have to talk amongst yourselves for a couple of days. Think you can handle that?
Got several things today, the foremost being the trailer for the upcoming post-apocalyptic vampire flick Daybreakers. This movie, which interestingly enough comes out a day after my birthday on January 8th, looks freakin’ awesome. Check out the trailer here. The plot is unique and I won’t go into deatils (check out the imdb.com page above for info), but I have high expectations for the film.
Secondly, there’s great news in Joss Whedon’s world: the Producer’s Guild of America (PGA) is honoring him with an achievement award. This puts a smile on my face because it at least means Hollywood is giving him some props for what he has done and is doing, even if the networks cancel his shows at the drop of a hat.
Next, ScreenRant gives us more details about Oren Peli’s upcoming film, Area 51. Peli, for those folks that have been living under a rock, is the director of the hit film Paranormal Activity, which I dubbed the Scariest Movie of All Time. I’m hoping that Peli can keep me as entertained with Area 51 as I was in his first film.
And great news for those of us who are fans of Torchwood: John Barrowman (Captain Jack Harness on the show) has confirmed that a season 4 IS in the works and it will actually have 13 episodes (as opposed to the 5 part mini-series we had to make do with for season 3). I can’t tell you how excited I am about this news. Torchwood is one of my favorite shows on TV (well, BBC TV) and I hope they keep it going.
